News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch filed for divorce from his third wife, Wendi Deng, in June. You might remember Deng from an incident in summer 2011, when she attacked a man who pied her husband while the media mogul was testifying about phone hacking before Parliament. Now you’ll remember her for her crazy crush on former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Rumors of Deng’s infidelity have circulated for years, particularly surrounding her relationship with Blair, Murdoch’s close friend and their daughter’s godfather. The Chinese-born businesswoman, 45, waxed poetic about the married PM in a mushy love note she wrote to herself (?), published in the March issue of Vanity Fair.
Oh, shit, oh, shit. Whatever why I’m so so missing Tony. Because he is so so charming and his clothes are so good. He has such good body and he has really really good legs Butt … And he is slim tall and good skin. Pierce blue eyes which I love. Love his eyes. Also I love his power on the stage … and what else and what else and what else …
To review, this is who she’s talking about.
Tony Blair may seem like an unlikely sex symbol, but then again, this woman was married to Rupert Murdoch, now 82, for 14 years. In VF, Mark Seal pieces together further evidence for the apparent affair—Deng, Murdoch, and Blair have so far declined to comment.
