Why would anyone want to watch LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian’s reality series? Sure, their Lifetime TV movie Northern Lights rolled in some viewership, but that’s only because of their offscreen affair. I wanted to see if their onscreen sex was worth Eddie and LeAnn cheating on Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Brandi Glanville and backup dancer Dean Sheremet respectfully. The juicy part of their courtship was piecing together the fuzzy restaurant security tapes, and now that they’re happy and settled, that’s only great for the couple. It just makes boring TV.
Even LeAnn thinks it’s nothing new. “It’s like every other reality show,” LeAnn Rimes told Us Weekly magazine. “There’s a lot of heart to it but there’s also a lot of laughs. Eddie and I are very much that way in our relationship. We have a lot of humor between the two of us and give each other shit a lot, so you see that.”
That sounds . . . uneventful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that with all the drama surrounding their courtship — which was created by their lies and cheating hearts of course — they’re still grossly in love. But by this point, I would think they’d want to enjoy their privacy, especially since every big celebrity media source made them a primetime spectacle and cover story. Why kick up all that old history from five years ago if everyone — other than Brandi — has moved on?
Is it just that boring, LeAnn? Do you guys just like it when we watch, Eddie? This show has already jumped the shark with the affair. They should just make a sex tape to spice things up like any normal couple, if they’re so concerned about documentation or just need spicing up.
