Madonna Talks About Sexual Showmanship, then Lets Katy Perry Tie Her Up

Pop stars Katy Perry and Madonna took on a tasteful (ie: light) bondage-themed photo shoot for V Magazine‘s “Power of Pop” issue, and from the looks of photos of Katy tying Madge up or Katy pulling Madge’s hair, I think it was a very good trust building exercise. These two made their own stamp on sex in showmanship — whether it’s dancing near burning crosses or squirting whipped cream out from the boobs — something which Madonna’s dad has finally come to terms with. Yes, despite a career highlighted with a girl-on-girl MTV VMA kiss, a pointed bra, and a book about sex creatively called Sex, it seems like the Queen of Pop’s dad has finally accepted that his little girl is going to grind wherever she wants.

“I would always say, ‘Dad, I’m an artist, I have to express myself. You don’t understand,'” the 55-year-old singer told the magazine. “I think he’s finally come to terms with it. It’s only taken 30 years. He’s like, ‘Do you have to simulate masturbation on the bed? Do you have to?’ ‘Yes, Dad, I do.'”

And thankfully she did because where else would we learn “The Power of Good-bye?” What would happen if we didn’t have “Like a Virgin” to make us talk about sex or to drunkenly perform on karaoke nights? Madonna has opened the discussion for sexuality so that everyone — including pop stars like Katy Perry who admitted frankly and suggestively that she kissed a girl and liked it — could own it, proudly. And Madge is still teaching the green-haired pop star a thing or two about sex.

“I was sore in my upper body and in my butt area from all that squatting,” Katy said about the shoot.

“It’s good to be sore in your butt,” Queen Madge replied. “My neck is sore from that wonderful moment when I was sucking on your heel.”

Ah, yes, so butt soreness is preferred over a crick in the neck? There’s still so much to learn.
