Gracing the cover of Elle this month, Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson reveals that she has “no shame” about her role as sexual ingénue Anastasia Steele. But don’t get too excited. The 24-year-old actress (who is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, not to mention the stepdaughter of Antonio Banderas) is apparently the only person in the known universe who read Fifty Shades for the character development.
“Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes,” Johnson said. “I think there’s a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.”
Really? That’s fine for your book club, Dakota, but we hope this doesn’t mean we’re in for 90 minutes of Anastasia and Christian Grey talking about their feelings on the big screen.
