Congratulations everyone and your mothers, we were all correct in saying that Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison dated before Glee, because they did, those liars. It looks like they’re owning up to it now because Lea’s promoting something again — I mean, she’s not beyond faking a wardrobe malfunction to promote a music video after all.
E! found an excerpt from her book Brunette Ambition, where she writes:
“When we shot the pilot, I met Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer for the first time. I had worked on Broadway with Jenna Ushkowitz and Matthew Morrison before. Matt had been a friend of mine for years, and in fact we’d actually dated back in the day for a Broadway beat.”
I can’t read sheet music so I’m not exactly sure the length of a “Broadway beat,” but I assume that it’s such a short amount of time that neither of the Glee stars thought it counted. They’ve been denying it for years, probably in an attempt to keep Lea Michele believably young enough to play a high schooler. (Yeah, I know, I don’t think that they’ve been doing a very good job at that either.)
I guess we can expect more of these non-juicy details from Lea Michele’s autobiography. On second thought, we can just wait until she has to promote her next single, she’ll find another relationship to exploit for it then, I’m sure.
